DetailsDescription and origin: pair of "Amadou" lighters, low-grade silver and red & yellow copper gilt bands. Together with another low-grade silver recipient. Amadou lighters were the traditional lighter of the "Poilus", the French soldiers during WW I. They allowed not to be seen by the absence of flame. It was also used by Pyrenean shepherds. Virtually indestructible, Amadou lighters contain neither gasoline nor gas. They have a simple operating system: a flint integrated in the lighter allows to light the wick. Pulling the wick was sufficient to turn it off.
